Distressed White over Gray Boat Cleat Rack

Distressed White over Gray Boat Cleat Rack

$51.50

These nautical boat cleat racks are made of pine planks and galvanized iron cleats. These racks are suitable to be used as coat racks, towel racks, back pack racks, hat racks, or key racks. They are built to be used indoors or outdoors in harsh saltwater environments.

The planks have been painted gray, then painted white, and finally distressed and sealed with gloss polyurethane.

All these racks are roughly 3.5" wide and are available in a range of lengths from 18" to 48." Custom sizes are available upon request.

The racks all come with d-ring hanging hardware attached on the back.

We have been making boat cleat coat and towel racks and selling them on Etsy since 2015. The racks we build today reflect years of experience that you won't get from newer copycat crafters. We take extra steps to ensure that knots don't show through our finishes and that our cleats don't discolor over time. We go to extra expense to build our racks with the best products on the market. We use Sherwin Williams WeatherShield exterior paints and exterior grade Minwax Professional Spar Urethane as our sealant. The screws we use to mount our cleats are rated for 10 years in treated lumber; they'll last even longer in the untreated wood we use. Our racks are designed to look great for years, and we have been in business long enough to know they do.

Mounting instructions:

The fastest and easiest way is to use the d-ring hooks we install on the back of every rack we sell. These hooks are rated to hold 20 lbs, so a rack with two of these hooks should have a 40lb capacity. For longer or heavier racks, we use heavier d-rings rated for 40 lbs each, which gives those racks an 80 lb capacity.

The other mounting method takes a little more work but is even stronger and creates an absolutely flush wall mount. For this, simply remove the d-ring hooks we installed on the back of the rack. Then remove one screw from one cleat on each end of the rack and replace our short screw with a long screw (2.5 to 3 inches). Drive that screw all the way through the rack and into a stud or drywall anchor.

Why all the boat cleats? We grew up in coastal North Carolina, in Morehead City. Now we live in Greenwood, South Carolina, but our hearts are still near the water. The boat cleats just look like home. They remind us of everything nautical. The remind us of beach houses, fishing piers, docks, and the rugged old commercial fishing boats that are becoming so scarce back home. These boat cleat racks are the perfect combination of where we are from and where we are now.

    Perfect. Just like the picture!

This is well made and aesthetically pleasing. The only thing I would say is the hangers are not in a place to line up with studs in the walls. So the hubs will have to do some manipulation to be able to screw into the studs to ensure it doesn’t rip the wall apart (think kids). Also, it is a smaller piece of wood (from top to bottom than I expected (I want to assure you it is true in length), and I would have thought the cleats would be a bit bigger based on the pics. But it does look really good and will be wonderful for our outdoor space!! Also, it was easy to order and shipped quickly.

Love the look of this item in my shore house. An awesome accent to my theme.

    Nice product and fast delivery
